It Was a Crazy One!

OMG the kids were OUT OF CONTROL TODAY! I have no idea what it was, but let me tell you I’m exhausted tonight. I didn’t sleep very well last night either so that didn’t help with much either. I woke up with my alarm at 7:30 and started to get ready, I had the bowl of cereal as the past few days. I am a creature of habit, this I know ;) I also brought my mug of coffee with me to work on my walk this morning. 


By the time lunch time hit I was not very hungry, just extremely frustrated but I ate anyway. We had a party for one of the teachers leaving on maternity leave tomorrow so I had some fruit from the fruit salad, a few potato chips and few bites of macaroni salad along with my yogurt and granola. Dessert was an amazing yellow cake with chocolate cake from my favorite bakery in town. I grew up eating her cakes before she started selling them and they are so moist and delish! I really needed that cake/chocolate today more than ever… haha like I ever need an excuse?! 


After work I came home and had a few macadamia nuts and headed off to the gym. I watched Oprah and did about 2 miles on the treadmill then lifted and headed home. Adam and I ran to A & P to pick up some veggies for our home made pizzas tonight :) I made mine with Garlic Naan, red and yellow peppers and mushrooms with tomato sauce and part skim mozzarella. I ate half of it and it totally hit the spot! There was also a pickle in the mix and a glass of Trader Joe’s 3 Buck Chuck ;)  I have to say I really enjoy this wine and that it goes down way too easily.. haha I might have also snagged a few pieces of pepperoni from Adams’ pizza. 004 003

Dessert was 2 Super Charge Me Cookies MMM today was a sweets kinda day since it was so rough.. oh well I’ll try and be a bit better tomorrow I hope! lol Have a great night :-D

Rainy Start

Well this morning started out a bit rainy but turned out to be a decent day. It got colder as the day went on, but I was lucky enough to get the kiddies out! Which makes my day a whole lot easier ;)

I started off my morning like any other with my bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee that I brought with me on my drizzly walk to work. 002

I heard it was going to clear up so I figured I’d leave the car at home, I hate driving to work since I’m so close! Luckily the morning went quick and when lunch came I helped out with the kiddies lunch and then ate my own. I had my Dannon Light and Fit Pineapple Coconut Yogurt with granola. I also had about a cup of cantaloupe and some pretzels for some saltage! lol 013_thumb myfoods 052

Snack time was Froot Loops so I helped myself to a couple of handfuls (gosh I love these things!). After breaking up a fist fight on the jungle gym it was time to walk home around 4ish. I got ready and ate some cashews and grapes and headed off to the gym. I just did 2 miles on the treadmill and came home, I figured I get out of work earlier on Thursday so I will lift then.

Adam got home later today than usual so I was trying to hold off for dinner with him. I had picked up my fav chicken salad sammy from the health food store after the gym. It had tasted so good last week that I really wanted one again, so I splurged. I had it with some bread and butter pickles and a few Trader Joe’s Reduced Guild Multigrain Chips in French Onion. Wow these are GREAT! They taste just like Sun Chips but were way cheaper, just what I look for! I also sneaked some BBQ Lays chips on my plate. 003

Adam had a half of a Cornish Hen from my dad so I tried a bite of that and boy was it tasty! I plan on having the other half one night this week. It just kinda scared me seeing it whole so I was not really up for trying it, but I did like it ;) After dinner we ran out to Kmart since they had tissues on sale and both of our allergies are kicking our butts! So we figured we might as well stock up. When we got home I cut up a pineapple I bought and snacked on 2 Super Charge Me Cookies from Eat, Drink and Be Vegan. I love these cookies and they are good for you, which makes it even better :-D

Holy Hotness!

My car this afternoon said 92! It’s April at the Jersey Shore.. what is going on here??!?!?!

I woke up this morning to my alarm and got myself in gear. I made up my bowl of cereal (same as yesterday) and checked my email. I got my shiznat together and my cup o’ coffee and walked to work. The morning was nuts but flew by, thank god!


Lunch came and I was starving, which surprised me since I was so hot from being outside in that heat. I brought a marinated/grilled portabella mushroom and had cantaloupe and tons and tons of pretzels. I wasn’t feeling too swift today but that wasn’t enough food even though my stomach was NOT HAPPY so I ate half of a cinnamon raisin Power Bar. I walked home after work ate some nuts and grapes and got ready for the gym. I did about 2 miles while watching Oprah and came home to relax in the air.

After showering and Adam getting home I made up a salad with romaine, peppers, cucumbers, croutons, shredded carrots, hummus and balsamic vinegar. I also may have had a few forkfuls of Adam’s sausage peppers and onions :) 002

MMM We ran some errands and came home, I was munchy so I had some apples with peanut butter times this picture by 2 ;)

We’re Having a Heat wave!!

OMG these past few days have been HOT HOT HOT! I think mother nature forgot spring and jumped right into summer here at the Jersey Shore. Sorry I did not post this weekend but with not feeling great it hasn’t been too exciting.. I did get up to the boardwalk everyday though so that made me happy! I figured the fresh air would be good for whatever was in my system. Unfortunately I gave it to Adam and he got in 200x worse.. We had a BBQ at his mom’s house last night with some of his family and when we got home he was complaining that he felt extremely “full” I said utoh watch out that is how I felt.. and within a couple hours he was uberly sick! I was up most of the night making sure he made it in and out of bed/bathroom ok. poor guy! Boy am I lucky I have an awesome immune system, and only felt crappy.. hah

I’ll just give ya a picture show of some of the eats since Friday.

Onto the eats today, breakfast was my usual bowl of cereal Post Wheat and Bran with some Kashi Go Lean Crunch, a banana, cinnamon and Light Silk Soymilk. I also brought my coffee on my walk to work which was much needed after my night of not sleeping!

I could have used a coffee iv today! We were outside for some of the morning and it was gorgeous, not too hot at all. Once lunch hit I was hungry so I had a La Yogurt with granola, and pineapple and strawberries on the side. I also sneaked a few pretzels for something salty.

I stayed at work until about 4 then walked home to get ready for the gym and check on my sick puppy. He was alive thank goodness! We talked for a few and I was off to the gym, I did snack on 2 handfuls of grapes and some almonds while we were chatting. I did 2 miles on the treadmill and lifted then came home. Adam finally got me on his insurance since I haven’t had any after leaving my last job. I was so angry I was going to have to pay 200 bucks to go to the “girlie” doctor in a few weeks. We talked to his cousin who is head of human resources at his job and got everything worked out!!!! Now I can find out what my belly deal is :-D I’m so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After reading about the insurance I made up a Lean Cuisine Panini and had some sweet potato fries. YUMO :-D 016 015

I may have also snacked on some raisins too while cleaning up a bit. After dinner I did some things for work and cleaned the bathroom to disinfect it after the sickness going on last night. I am a happy camper now to have a clean potty again :-D I think I’m going to get something to snack on, not sure what yet I’ll let ya know tomorrow! I hope wherever you are is as great as it here in good old Jersey :-D Oh wait I just decided on some apple with pb x2.017

Hi Everyone.. I went to bed very early last night feeling HORRBILE!! migraine+stomachache and nausea= unhappy Meggy! So instead of showing you my boring eats I thought I’d finally get to my food reviews!!!

ok first up Honest Foods They were nice enough to send tons of goodies for me to try out! :) thanks so much again! hmm where do I start?

The planks were so good! They come in Maple Almond Crunch, Blueberry Vanilla Crackle and Pomegranate Walnut Crisp. My fav was the Blueberry! These were great mixed into yogurt and oatmeal and to top it off I found out my local health food store sells them now, I plan on picking up a few when I have some extra dough in my pocket ;)

They also sent me samples of their bars, which come in Almond Trail mix (this was my absolute favorite!!), Apple Ginger, Chocolate Ginger and Cran Lemon Zest.

These were awesome too, I would just snack on them at work when I got munchy (which is often in my world!) I would definitely recommend these if you ever see them in your local stores or you can buy them on their website :)

Next up! The people at Odwalla sent me a free coupon! I tried out their Original Superfood Drink and let me tell you that even though it may be green its so good! I was nice enough to let Adam try it out and he was very surprised by the taste.. He saw the color and thought sucking on a lawnmower but he was pleasantly surprised!! :)

Last Monday when I was on my mini Easter Vacation from work I was so excited to get my box from Naturally Nutty ! I love me some nut butters so I just could not wait to get my paws into this box :) I tried the White Chocolate Cherry Almond Butter first. OMG I was eating this straight out the the jar, SO FREAKING GOOD!!! 


Next up was the Mocha Peanut Butter, wow they have another winner here! It wasn’t an over powering coffee flavor but I thought the flavors melded very well together. Once again eaten out of the jar and on some apples! 


And last but not least the Butter Toffee Peanut Butter, at first I was like hmm might not like this much because I am not a big fan of toffee.. but wow was I surprised! It reminded both Adam and I of peanut butter from our childhood.. just don’t ask which one! lol and even better was this one is healthy and you know the one we were eating when we were little def wasn’t!! :-P I think when I finish up all the nut butters I have in my pantry.. there must be 7 in there I will be buying more of these to try out!!! Thanks again to Naturally Nutty! Your Nut Butters are AMAZING!

Another Blah Kinda Day..

Well I had a hard time going to sleep last night because of the wind… Thank goodness though I finally passed out well after 11 o'clock! I woke up around 7:05 realizing Adam was getting up over an hour late.. I got up too and he was like “I’m in no rush”. Ugh Even though I was up early I just couldn’t get myself in gear. I had the same bowl of cereal as yesterday with a cup of coffee to bring to work. 


The morning dragged on because of lack of communication…. UGH gotta love work sometimes! By lunch it was raining so I couldn’t take a break and walk home just to get out for a few.. Lunch was the same as yesterday.. Yogurt with granola and pineapple… I know I’m so boring but my stomach is so bad lately!! myfoods 090 myfoods 065

At snack time I had an apple nutrigrain bar, because I was getting munchy and my coworker was nice enough to give me it ;) I stayed a bit later at work and raced over to the gym to get in a quick 2.25 miles on the treadmill. I then went to the health food store to pick up my favorite comfort food… a veggie chicken salad sammy.. MMMM I came home and made Adam Chicken Pomodoro for dinner.. I wanted it but I had such bad heartburn and knew it was not a good idea! I did try it though and it was yummy! :) My dinner was my sammy, a pickle the end of my Multi-Grain Pita Chips and a couple carrots while I was trying to find the pickles in the fridge ;)  003

We then headed out to Wegman’s to pick up a few items for Adam to make up on Friday since I have to babysit. I came home cleaned up the kitchen and snacked on a few cashews and a piece of apple with PB2 chocolate :-D and maybe a mini snickers bar.. Oh and I wonder why my stomach hates me! 


Well this next week is supposed to be gorgeous out!! I hope its going to be the same in your neck of the woods! If so do you have any fun plans?! I plan on being outside the WHOLE WEEKEND!!! ;-D

Feeling BLAH!!

Hi Everyone! Sorry I didn’t blog yesterday.. After work, gym and showering I headed off to meet with the Pastor to start our “counseling” it actually went really well! Thank goodness :) but onto today..

I woke up with my alarm at 7:30 and hopped to it. I had my bowl of Post Wheat and Bran with some Golden Grahams, banana, cinnamon and light soymilk. I also brought a nice big old cup of coffee with me. 


My stomach just hasn’t been feeling right since last night and its getting worse each day. I feel like I have a bolder sitting in it! WTF? I tried to stay cheerful while having the whole school decorate cookies, since it was round robin day. I had each class come to me and we took sugar cookies and decorated them with frosting, sprinkles, and chocolate chips! It was a HUGE hit! The kids loved it and it was so much fun :) Lunch time came and I wasn’t really in the mood to eat bug figured I might as well.. I wanted to walk home just to get some fresh air but I was just feeling icky so lunch and sitting it was! I had a Dannon Light and Fit with granola and a bunch of pineapple. Then on top of my belly not being happy one of my coworkers brought in a devils food cake with chocolate chips and a chocolate glaze which I of course had to try… I had a few bites then tossed it.. boy was it good though!

After work I was off to the gym, I did 2.5 miles and headed home. I picked up Adam and headed to the super market to pick up a couple things. I dropped a cake off to the parents that they wanted me to pick up, then came home and showered. I was not even hungry yet and it was after 6pm!!! SHOCKER RIGHT?!?!!? We settled on salads with tuna tonight for dinner. I had lettuce, red peppers, celery, red onion, cucumbers, croutons and tuna with some red Russian dressing. 


MMM Totally hit the spot! I also had about a hand full or so of peanuts for some more protein. I then was craving chocolate! Surprised?!? So I had a few chocolate covered peanuts and almonds. I’m now sitting and trying to relax since I feel awful! The pains just won’t go away :( and I know the crap I ate today didn’t help!!!!!!!!!!!! When will I learn? I am just trying to soothe myself with foods that just make me feel MISERABLE! ugh!

Game Over

Well another weekend is here and gone! Where does it go?!?! Lets see Friday night we went out for my friends birthday.. fun late night out! after 3 vodka and sodas I was a dancing fool…Here’s me and the birthday girl :)009

Needless to say my legs and feet were killing me yesterday! lol I got myself up and had a bowl of Kashi Raisin spice heart heart oatmeal.. YUMO and a cup of coffee to get my ass in gear.002

I went to the gym and did 2 miles on the treadmill since I knew we were going for a walk at the Manasquan Reservoir. I had a big old bowl of Oikos plain Greek yogurt with berries and tons of cereal for lunch, since while at my parents doing laundry I baked a cake and ate some frosting and cake batter ;) big surprise right?!?!


I then got ready and we went for our walk. It was GORGEOUS OUT!! I just wish my legs weren’t killing me from dancing in heels for a good 3 hours Friday night!

Dinner was sushi for me since we had no idea what the heck to make and it was so warm that we didn’t want to turn on the oven. I had a Spicy Tuna Roll and some of Adam’s Chinese food. I can’t even remember what he got except it had shrimp and he also got boneless ribs were are my favorite :-D Dessert was a few bites of my cake I made and a few pieces of apple with pb on it.  



Onto this morning!! I was up early since I was in bed by 10 last night. I got up and had a small bowl of cereal (kashi go lean crunch and Trader Joe’s Raisin Bran, banana, cinnamon and light soymilk) and of course a nice mug of coffee. 009 008

I was super excited because we were going to The Pop Shop, Bobby Flay did a Throw down here on Grilled Cheeses! I had gone there in the summer and had the veggie cheese steak and it was awesome, but this time I thought I’d go for what they are known for! I got the Stokes which was American cheese with tomato and apple wood smoked bacon on country white bread. OMG so good! We also got a side of Pizza Fries.. wow I ate about 10 fries and half of my sammy. I also had my pickle and coleslaw. 0419091229 0419091227


We walked around town a bit (its such a cute little town, but since its Sunday not too much was open!!) then headed to the Trader Joe’s that was a few towns away. I wish we had one of these closer because this was over an hour away from home :( We picked up lots of fun things and headed home.

Once home and settled we walked across the highway to A&P for lunchmeat and a few other things for the week. We had to try and enjoy the weather since it is going to rain for the next 3 days!! UGH!!! After unpacking our goods I got started on my lesson plans for the week, printed a few things out and showered. Around 6ish I was hungry for something but not too much because of my cheesy lunch! I had a Yoplait yogurt with some of my new Trader Joe’s Low fat Almond Granola and some pineapple on the side. I also may have had a few more pieces of the boneless ribs since Adam was eating his leftovers. yum yum yum! I think now I am going to cut up my cantaloupe that I bought today and relax! And The Saga Continues….

Good Evening all!

Lets see.. I woke up early this morning and dragged myself out of bed to get my day started. I made up my bowl of cereal (same as yesterday) and ate that up like someone was going to take it away from me! I also ate some grapes, about 2 handfuls since I was munchy. I got ready and was off to feed the kitty and walk to work. I brought a cup of coffee with me on my trek since I knew we’d have a room full of kiddies today! The morning was nutty but at least we got outside, which definitely helps.


Once lunch hit I was hungry and ready to chat with my co-workers about the craziness going on at work. It was a nice lunch where we all got to vent our feelings out. I had my Dannon Light and Fit with granola and about a cup of pineapple.

I may have also picked on a chocolate cupcake that really wasn’t good but I snacked on since it was there.. UGH. The afternoon was nice because I just took the kids outside since they were crazy and I knew I wouldn’t get anything done with them.. hello spring fever!! I walked home after work, snacked on more grapes and peanuts and headed to the gym. There I did 2.25 miles and came home to check out the new reality show "The Cougar” I had gotten a text at work from a friend saying a guy I grew up with was on it… Not that I was surprised.. he’s a piece of work… I had to come home and check it out though. so I ate some more grapes and watched it.. too funny! If you liked to check it out his name is Jon..

Onto dinner I had leftover veggie pizza that I had frozen god only knows how long ago… I had a pickle and some green peppers on the side.. I also had tomato sauce for dipping ;)


After I was done I saw an open bag of Doritos (thanks Adam) and snacked on a few.. it was a snacky kinda day.. I guess you just need those every once in a while. After dinner I ran out to pick up things for our “round robin day” at work next week. I am baking well not really I’m baking and they get to decorate the sugar cookies. It should be a lot of fun! Once we got home I cut up a HUGE apple and had 2 pieces with peanut butter.. MMM After the first I just had to have another ;) Even though I wasn’t very hungry it just hit the spot. 010

I’m off to relax and rest up for tomorrow! We are going out for my friends bday tomorrow night.. its $1 drinks from 9-11.. I have a feeling its gonna be a CRAZY NIGHT!!

Thank Goodness Today is OVER!

Hiya all! I woke up this morning to Adam talking on the phone saying he’d see someone tomorrow. I then knew it was once again yucky out and he’d be stuck at home not working :( I got up around 7:20 after talking to him for a few (since he came back to bed). I made up a bowl of Post Wheat and Bran with Golden Grahams, banana, cinnamon and tons of light vanilla soymilk. I didn’t realize how much I poured into the bowl.. oh well.. I also had my mug of coffee with me for my trek to feed the kitty down the street and go to work. 



This morning dragged on once again, even worse than yesterday! I found out one of my co workers, who does the afternoons with me was sick. Lunch came and I was starving, thanks to me stressing over workage. I had the same as yesterday since it filled me up. 3/4 cup whipped cottage cheese and a huge pink lady apple (these have been so good from Wegman’s) I also had 2 handfuls of goldfish pretzels and at snack I had a piece of chocolate since it was calling me :-P

I was hoping I was not going to have to stay until 6 at night because that is one LONG ASS day with little kids! haha After lots of craziness, the high school girl came in at 3 (her usual hours) and I stayed until 4ish trying to get things under control for her.

I got to the gym and did about 2.25 miles on the treadmill while reading some trashy gossip mags and listening to my Ipod, I also lifted a bit. I came home got Adam and we headed off to Shoprite since they had grapes, Boca burgers and Silk soymilk on sale! woohoo :-D  We came home and while Adam got his breakfast for dinner ready I showered. I had a defrosted Chickpea patty from Vcon and a half of a sweet potato with lots of salsa. SO SO GOOD!!! 004 002 003

I may have also had a bite or 2 of Adam’s GIANT pork roll, egg and cheese sammy on a tasty hard roll. If your not from Jersey or have never visited this is the true breakfast of a Jersey Gal/Guy. I used to live on pork roll.. but now I only have a bite of Adam’s every now and then or maybe one sandwich a year. But boy is it worth the wait :-D I got a few things done around the apartment and talked to my cousin about my bridal shower. After that I snacked on more Kettle Corn and pineapple and now I finally get to relax a bit! myfoods 090_thumb[1] 004[3]

I saw its going to be gorgeous this weekend!!! Do you have any plans?!?!?  Adam and I plan on spending it outside doing some fun things.. I hope it all pans out! I miss playing outside!
